Instructional Steps:
Day 1. I will begin to ask the students who they think Christopher Columbus. What did he do that was so important? After hearing their answers I will begin to read them a book about Christopher Columbus called Who Was Christopher Columbus? Then I will have the students answer my questions again making sure they understand. I will teach them the Christopher Columbus rhyme. After this we will begin our craft.
Day 2. I will tell the students to gather around me and I will tell them about Stephen F. Austin and Jose Antonio Navarro. They helped make Texas grow, telling families to come and live in Texas and how they helped shape America today. Stephen F. Austin was known as the Father of Texas. I will then give them a craft to do about Stephen F. Austin and Jose Antonio Navarro.
Day 3. I will show a video of George Washington and then go over what the video had talked about. I will then tell the children how George Washington is on a certain piece of money. I will allow them to guess what it is and then I will tell them he is on the one-dollar bill. I will then give them a craft to do about George Washington.
